Next Year’s Board: 2015-2016

Protestant Women of the Chapel (PWOC) is a women’s ministry that has been around for over 50 years.  We have a heritage and many ladies who came before us who organized this women’s ministry to continue onward even when ladies PCS, Chaplains change, and even when the International PWOC was unable to continue to exist.  Military spouses are resilient and resourceful!  At PWOC Naples, we operate according to the guidelines of the PWOC Women’s Ministry Manual released in 2013.  This model has been working well for so many years, why would we try to change something that isn’t broken?  We have a few things that are unique to our PWOC because of us being at a Navy installation, but overall we abide by the WMM and we continue on as a part of the history of PWOC. According to the guidelines of the WMM, we have a yearly Executive Board and Joint Board who help to run the weekly, monthly, and yearly happenings of PWOC.  Each person on the board has a different position and are chosen not solely according to their personal skills, but according to God’s calling.  We all have to work together all year and we are all unique in our personalities, capabilities, and walks with Christ.  Our commonality is in our calling and our response to Christ’s call.  We all felt called to serve the women at PWOC and the women in our community. Those interested in joining the Executive Board begin their applications in the Spring.  They will hand in their applications to the Leadership Selection Committee Chair.  She will then schedule a meeting with each lady who applies and they will meet with her, her two committee members, and a Chaplain.  After all the applicants have been interviewed, the board will prayerfully select the board for the following year.  At times, the entire board may not be filled and the unfilled spot will remain open until a person applies that the board prays about and feels God’s blessing on the selection.  We would rather have the person that God calls to the position than a person who wants to help by filling a spot out of a sense of responsibility.  God will provide!

Executive Board Positions

  • President
  • Spiritual Life Vice President
  • Programs Vice President
  • Administrative Coordinator
  • Financial Liason

PWOC – Exec Board – Request for Consideration

Once the Executive Board is elected in the Spring, they begin to train under the current Executive Board until they are installed late in the Spring to their positions.  They will plan the Summer Session together as their first endeavor.  By the time the Fall starts, the Executive Board will be joined by more members of the Joint Board. Any person who interested in the Joint Board can speak to the current or new President about participating in the following year.  The current President will collect the information to pass on to the new President so that she can select her Joint Board.  The new President will begin to pray over her new board and carefully select ladies who are called by God to fulfill the Joint Board positions in the new year.
